A photochromic lens is a lens whose color changes when exposed to ultraviolet rays such as sunlight, and which reversibly returns to its original color in the dark or, more generally, when the radiation disappears. Photochromic lenses are used in (sun) glasses, sports and ski goggles or as contact lenses.
